During strong El Nino previous to arrival of Kelvin waves to Peruvian Coast, the Cromwell Current (Equatorial undercurrent) reaches very high velocities at 0 N 110 W. On march 2015 the EUC reached a maximum average velocity at 80 m depth of more than 140 cm/s. The march average is less than 90 cm/s and in 1997 the maximum average velocity was 120 cm/s approximately. That is, Kelvin wave will reach Peruvian coast this month (april) and will influence temperature increases along Peruvian Coast and will originate a moderate or strong El Nino in the next months im Peru.
