El Nino doesn't matter anymore when the hairpin in the jet steam is now just as permanent as weather features in Jupiter's atmosphere and therefore mega-drought rules the western US for decades or centuries. Its the spreading of the Sonora desert from Mexico all the way to Alaska. No more connifer forests and mountain meadows in the Rockies, no more trout streams! No more food independance for small ranchers and farmers! Dependance on import food and water and mega-farm food is total desttruction of individual liberty, dependance on foreign oil is just an inconveniance compared!
