Hello First, thank you for this very interesting text! I always appreciate to know more about the history of climate and weather forecast. I would like to comment on your picture in Figure 1. As a Brazilian, from southern Brazil, the landscape called my attention. This is not what we are used to see there. Researching a little be more, I found out that there isn't any city called Queimada Vaz. There are actually two cities of Queimadas, one in the state of Bahia and other in Paraiba, both on Northeastern Brazil, known for its drought. By what I could find only, this picture was taken in a city call Queimadas, but not sure each one. Thus, this is not a image from southern Brazil, although the drought there in this year was really severe. Thank you again for this text
