I have gotten to be a huge fan of this blog since I discovered it this last winter. Thank you. Is it my imagination, or did the upper and lower wind anomalies virtually disappear about when the the new monthly ENSO diagnostic report came out, which I think was quite close in time to this article? Looking at the big El Nino events, those strong wind anomalies were one characteristic that they had that the others did not-- even though the others seemed very strong at times except the wind anomalies. Am I off base? Did the wind anomalies pretty much die all of a sudden in the last week or so? What kind of effect will that cause if I am right? And, if I am wrong, have they picked back up or was I just misreading something? Thanks!
