El Nino or not El Nino in December? There's been a lot of discussion here in southern Oregon whether the December pattern of a strong westerly jet aimed at Washington and Oregon is due to El Nino. I realize the typical split off the west coast and the stronger southern branch into California is what we usually see. December's pattern across the Pacific seemed almost semi La Nina for the Pacific northwest. What are your thoughts? Thanks for the blogs, I enjoy them.
