A previous comment said NOAA intended to do a retrospective comparing weather -- not just SST -- of this El Niño to average. The SST was among the top three on record (since 1950 per NOAA's record, longer by other sources). Was this accompanied by other weather phenomena of similar nature? It is important to have a retrospective for the two-year long description of this as a "super", "monster", and "Godzilla" event. NOAA, to its credit, provided more muted forecasts in these articles -- which proved quite accurate.
