El Nino La Nina predictions

What does it matter if it's a La Nina or El Nino when they have little idea on the outcome? Let's look at The Climate Prediction Center's forecasting. 2000-2001- It was a La Nina. They stated you can expect a dry year like '98-'99 and it wound up two inches above normal. There was the 2005-2006 El Nino and they warned of a likely wet year and possible flooding, it turned out to be the second driest season (my records) in thirty years. Last years powerful 90 percent wet weather, flooding El Nino produced less than ten inches. This year it was a La Nina so it should have been dry and I've had 18.77" since October. In Oceanside, where I live, La Ninas were almost one hundred percent chance of being dry in the late 20th Century. From 1950-1999, there was only one wet season at Oceanside harbor during a La Nina. If the experts were on the ball, they would have noticed that La Ninas this century have become much wetter in Southern California, but for some reason it isn't mentioned. There are still too many factors for expert meteorologists to make good long range predictions.
