Yes, I believe you're right!  I don't think it's a coincidence that the batch of nor'easters occurred after the NAO turned sharply negative in late February.  This sort of connection between nor'easter occurrence and the blocking associated with the negative phase of the NAO is consistent with what scientists have noted before.
