2013 was quiet due to the NAO suddenly turning strongly positive which strengthened trade winds coming off of Africa. In 2014 only the oceans not the atmosphere reflected El Nino.In 2015 El Nino for sure surpressed the season in the Atlantic. We all doubted that we were in the active era still.Then 2017 came along and smacked us in the face.
