Sorry guys but it was a total miss on the winter 2018-2019 forecast. It wasn't just because of February's extreme cold either. If you drew a diagonal line from Cleveland to San Diego everything to the north of that line got hammered from the beginning to the end. Extreme snow and cold including the desert Southwest. Montana had the second coldest winter on record. Omaha had feet of snow all winter now causing flooding. Scottsdale AZ had snow. Costal Oregon had over a foot of snow in one day. It was an epically bad winter. If as you say prediction this stuff 3 months in advance is still difficult then let's not do it anymore. It creates false hope.
