Thanks Michelle - can you point me to any papers that look at how far south (latitudinal coordinates) polar vortex collapse events have gone? Also, re recent Texas winterstorm and others, can local topography (i..e mountain ranges/ plains/ oceans) play a mitigating/ exacerbating role?
