Well the predicted Northern Pacific pressure may have been off but the end result here in California seems to be pretty typical La Nina. Low rain with the storms pushed north into Washington and lots of off shore wind events here(I'm in Sonoma County). My Father in-law in Orange County said they've had almost no rain at all this winter. That's all very La Nina for our state. I wonder if you run the pressure analysis like you do with the sea surface temps in the 3.4 region(the rolling 15~20 year blocs) if that would point to a pressure trend in some way.
