When I saw the global SST pattern here, I felt like the negative SST anomalies in the subtropical northeastern Pacific, which are reminiscent of the negative Pacific Meridional Mode, may lead to the re-occurrence of La Nina in the following seasons via the tropical-subtropical Pacific coupling processes.
