Absolutely!  The concept RONI is captivating. My graduate degree was in data Analytics but I've been feverishly trying to learn about climatology.  I've been a big fan of some of the research papers people such as yourself have written.  I firmly believe the whole point of identifying the strength of an ENSO event is to infer the potential teleconnections in other parts of the world.  That research into RONI will certainly help.  We have so much to learn about ENSO.  Research analytics have taught me that nothing exists in a vacuum, correlation doesn't mean causation and nothing is set in stone.
