Your comment is a good reminder for those of us outside the tropics that for those actually in the tropics, the impacts of El Niño and La Niña are more consistent and potentially severe than they are in the subtropics and mid-latitudes, where the influence of El Niño and La Niña is weaker. That's a big part of the reason experts work so hard to understand and predict ENSO!
